Deacon Touching Points Ministry

The deacon body at Hickory Grove, following individual election by the Church, is charged with coming alongside our staff to serve the fellowship – to serve the body of Christ called Hickory Grove Baptist Church. To answer this call we have, following much prayer, refocused our approach to the ministry you – the Church – have entrusted us with. Actually it’s more of a return to the basics and we’re calling it, Touching Points.

There are four Touching Points.

»Availability: the church membership has been divided among the active deacons. Every member has a deacon to assist and serve as needs arise.
»Pastoral Care: assisting widows and homebound members.
»Assimilation: visit and assist new members as they assimilate into our fellowship.
»Teaching: assist with teaching and preaching as opportunity allows.

It is our privilege to serve as your deacon. It is our sincere desire to come alongside our pastoral staff and be available to assist with needs that may arise in your life or those in your family. It is never an inconvenience to call. As Church members, we too have a deacon to call upon as needs may arise. We need each other – we can’t do it alone, call anytime.

Please know also, you are part of our regular prayers. We are always interested in hearing about concerns or praises so that prayers can be as specific as possible.
