EVALUATIONS: You will need to attend ONE of the evaluations (skill assessments). We try to determine your child's abilities through a variety of fun drills that focus on: speed, dribbling (each hand), and shooting from a variety of distances. This data will assist us in evenly placing the teams to the best of our ability. Players and Cheerleaders will try on uniforms to confirm correct sizes. You will need 30-40 minutes to complete this process.
These will be held at the HICKORY GROVE GYM on the following dates:
1. Monday, November 26th 2017 from 6:30pm-8:00pm (PreK-2nd Grades) 2. Tuesday, November 27th 2017 from 6:30pm-8:00pm (3rd-5th Grades) 3. Thursday, November 29th 2017 from 6:30pm-8:00pm (All Grades)

What makes Upward different than other programs? We believe in developing children using the 360 degree progression (Mentally, Athletically, Socially, and Spiritually). Not only do we teach the fundamentals of sports, but we also teach children how to make better choices in their lives. We don't force our beliefs on our families, but we do introduce Jesus to children and families in a loving way by teaching virtues such as commitment, respect, trust, and compassion. Click HERE for more details about Upward Sports.
Our rules progressively get harder and more comprehensive the older your child is. Email Travis for more specifics. Winning is fun, but it is NOT our main focus. We teach that a spirit of competition is healthy and encouraged, but that there is much more to life than a game.
PARENTS: A positive attitude is an extremely important element in this league. We expect all people watching the children play to remember this is supposed to be fun experience, while children are learning the game. Our coaches and referees are volunteers, so we ask that you are respectful in your actions and your words.
